I will advocate for an education system that emphasizes parental rights, concentrates on traditional academic disciplines, and excludes content deemed objectionable or ideological from school curricula. This approach is advantageous because it upholds parental rights, a fundamental, inherent right to guide their children's upbringing and education. Greater parental involvement yields improved student behavior, elevated academic performance, and refined social skills. Prioritizing core academics entails refocusing on foundational subjects like reading and mathematics, rather than diverting attention to social-emotional learning or complex social issues. Ensuring curriculum transparency and content oversight involves removing certain materials, such as sexually explicit or ideologically driven content, from school libraries, thereby protecting children and aligning the curriculum with community values. Shielding children from specific ideologies, like critical race theory and certain LGBTQ+ topics in K-12, is essential because these constitute indoctrination and are unsuitable for school settings. Ultimately, our primary objective should be providing a world-class education that prepares children for an increasingly competitive and dynamic workforce while ensuring that our teachers have all the tools, they need to be the best teacher, they can be and to make sure that the taxpayers' dollars are protected!
